I love Christmas.  But I hate trying to figure out what to get some people on my list.  So I did some research on what I think are some great gifts for wine lovers.  I found some wonderful wine gadgets starting at just $9.  I hope this list helps you find the perfect vino gift too!

Private Preserve ($9.00)
Private Preserve is a wine preserver in an aerosol can.  If you’re like me, you may want to open a bottle of wine and have just one glass.  The rest of the bottle just goes to waste or I end up cooking with it.

With Private Preserve, you can save the wine!  I’ve treated wine with Private Preserve and it tasted great a of couple weeks later.  The company says it can preserve wine up to a year.  Wineries and restaurants use this stuff to keep their wines from spoiling.

Private Preserve is totally safe and completely tasteless.  It’s the same gas used by wineries when they bottle wine.
You can preserve 100 bottles or more with just one can of Private Preserve.  The product can also be used to preserve port, sherry, single malts, single batch bourbons, old Cognac, sake, ultra fine tequila, fine cooking oils and vinegars.
You can purchase Private Preserve at many large wine retailers and many smaller stores like WineStyles.  To buy online, try www.winepreserve.com or www.wineenthusiast.com.

Respirer ($34.95)
Respirer, pronounced res-p-AIR is a wine aerator.  You’ve probably heard the expression, “let the wine breathe.”  That’s why many people pour their wine into a decanter before serving it.

Patience is a virtue I do not possess.  Therefore, I hate waiting to drink my wine while it’s decanting.  With Respirer, you don’t have to wait.  Simply pour your vino through the Respirer which is shaped like a wine glass.  And viola, your wine is aerated and ready to drink.  What a great idea!
For more information about how the Respirer works or to order one or several, go to www.winebreathe.com or call 760-230-2355.

Wine.com has a great selection of gifts under $40.  Of course they have plenty of gifts above that price range as well, if you’d like to spend more.  Here are gifts under $40 that I like.

Wine Tasting Party Kit ($25.00)
Everyone loves a good party, especially one that feature vino!  With this party kit, it’s a no brainer.

This kit includes six reusable linen wine bottle covers (no peeking), tasting score pads, a cheat sheet, glass markers and a 64 page book about how to taste wine.  You no longer have an excuse for not throwing that wine party!

Rosa Regale Sparkler with Godiva Chocolate ($29.99)
Sparkling wine and chocolate… need I say more?

Start with a bottle of sweet sparkling red wine by Banfi Rosa Regale Brachetto, throw in Godiva Chocoiste Dark Chocolate Raspberries and Almonds.  Let’s skip dinner and go straight to dessert!

Tour de France Wine Gift Pack ($39.99)
I have to admit that I tend to buy wines from California, Washington, Oregon or Australia.  Although I love European wine, I guess I’m a little lazy and don’t seek it out.  This is a great gift for a lazy wine drinker like me or someone who loves French wine.

The gift pack includes three bottles from France’s famous wine regions:  Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhone.  Chateau Les Grave de Barrau from the Cheval Blanc family; Bouchard’s Burgundy and Cotes-du-Rhone from Louis Bernard.  What a great deal!

The Note - Wine Label Saver by Hinckley Cellars ($64.00/$98.00)
Do you know someone who likes to keep wine notes, keepsakes or scrapbook?  “The Note” may be the perfect gift.  The note can remove and preserve wine labels.  Many people like to keep labels in wine journals or perhaps in a memory book to honor a special occasion.

The Note Wine Label Saver is made of artisan quality polished stainless steel with a premium leather blade cover, packaged in a wooden keepsake box.  You can buy The Note separately for $64.00 or bundled with a premium quality Italian leather wine journal for $98.00.  For more information or to purchase The Note, visit www.hinckleycellars.com.

WinePod Online School of Winemaking ($99.00)
Don’t have a lot of time to shop for the wine lover in your life?  The WinePod Online School of Winemaking may be the perfect last minute gift for a loved one or yourself.

It’s a four week online wine making school taught by WinePod’s professional winemakers and hosted by award-winning author and sommelier, Courtney Cochran.  The wine making course teaches wine lovers how to make their own hand crafted wine.  At the end, students come away with their own personal bottle of wine (where allowed by law).
Here’s an extra bonus, if you buy WinePod’s Online School of Winemaking before December 31, 2008, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win an at home WinePod Winemaking System priced at $4499.00.

For more information or to purchase WinePod products, go to www.winepod.net.

I hope these gift ideas help you find a great present for the wine lover in your life, or for yourself.  By the way Santa, if you’re reading this… hint, hint.
