Sexy Wine Series
“Excellent with pizza, pasta, ribs and most breakfast cereals (kidding about that last one). We really don't make it in the bathtub, but it looks like fun. A bountiful body with skimpy close.”

That is the description on the back of a bottle of wine I picked up the other day. It’s called Brayzin Hussy Red, by Bray Vineyards of Shenandoah Valley, California. |

Call it clever and eye-catching -- or perhaps just shameless self-promotion. But you have to hand it to Francis Ford Coppola. In an era when marketers try to seamlessly and subliminally blend products into movies, Coppola would rather come out and just hit you over the head with a bottle -- literally. |

PETER CAVE: When is a rose a rose? Well not when it's made from a blend of red and white wine according to the European Union.
The EU has upheld a ban on European wine makers making rose from mixing the two types of wine and labelling it rose.
The commission had wanted to lift the ban to help European producers compete with cheaper imports from Australia and South Africa.

Maynard James Keenan is a man of many occupations: Lead singer of Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, a bottler of wines and now, star of the new documentary Blood Into Wine: The Arizona Stronghold, which tells the story of Keenan and his winemaking partner Eric Glomski’s decision to start a vineyard in dry, desolate Jerome, Arizona. The trailer for the beautifully shot film, co-directed by Moog filmmakers Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, is up now at the Twinkle Cash Co. Website. |

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Cal Dennison likes a nice cold glass of chardonnay. And he's man enough to admit it. That's hardly surprising since Dennison is winemaker at the Modesto-based Redwood Creek winery, but is he an exception? Judging by some marketing campaigns, you might think so. Take the Super Bowl ad that ran a couple years back in which men invited to a wine and cheese party sneaked into the kitchen to unpack beer hidden in a fake wheel of cheese. |

Fail-safe system guides you to appropriate bottle We've all been in the situation before -- you're at a restaurant on a big date or with important client when the wine list is dropped in front of you with a thud. Understandably, your reaction might be to hightail it out or order a beer and skip the daunting process all together. |
