![]() Just the name, “Wine & Roses” exudes relaxation and “lovey dovey” feelings. And it should. The property is beautiful, even in February when the gorgeous rose bushes on the property are not in bloom. The property is so pretty, it’s a popular place for weddings. Not only are the grounds at Wine and Roses beautiful, but so are the rooms. But don’t expect to pay through the nose here, W&R rates are surprisingly affordable and they have great packages too. More on that later. ![]() The property has an historic inn as well a newer, modern hotel with a rustic Mediterranean feel. They describe the historic inn as “Victorian.” But it has more of a “vintage cottage” feel to me. According to their website, both Margaret Thatcher and Martha Stewart have stayed at the historic inn… and we know how picky Martha is about quality. The Lodi Visitor’s center is located at the front of the property and you can taste wines from various area vintners without even getting in your car. But if you choose to get in your car and cruise Lodi’s wine trail, signs along the route are clearly marked (there are tons of signs) so you can’t get lost. If you want to hit wineries off the beaten path, you can get a map at the Visitor’s Center. ![]() Now back to Wine & Roses. There is a spa on the property if you are in the mood for a facial or massage. Right now the restaurant is closed for renovations, but the grand opening is planned for Valentine’s Day 2009. Management plans to unveil more rooms in Spring of 2009 and a pool and fitness center in Winter 2009. Here’s the skinny… *Rooms at the Historic Inn are $169 a night. What a fantastic deal for the vintage atmosphere with updated amenities. ![]() *King rooms in the hotel are $239. You can upgrade to a King room with a fireplace for just $249. *If you plan on staying seven nights or longer, a one bedroom “Signature Suite” is $149 a night, plus you get one free 60 minute spa treatment during your stay. If you stay 14 nights or longer the price goes down to $139 a night. Prices are $129 a night for a 30 day or longer stay. ![]() W&R’s most expensive accommodations are the “Grand Vintner’s Suite with Loft” and the “Grand Spa Suite.” Both are $450 a night but include kitchens and living rooms. There are plenty of other choices in the 200 to 400 dollar range as well. All of the rooms come with a complementary continental breakfast. You can truly get a bargain if you get one of W&R’s packages. *If you stay on a Sunday or Monday, you can get a King room with a fireplace for just $169. Plus, you’ll get a $50 gift certificate to use at the hotel restaurant, gift store or spa. That boils down to just $119 at night. Nice!
