Calendar to Feature Eco-Friendly Dog Hikes, Bike Tour and Docent-Led Sustainable Winegrowing Hikes
KENWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kunde Family Estate announced today its expanded and diversified 2009 Green Tour and Hike program schedule. Designed to educate and entertain wine and outdoor enthusiasts on sustainable winegrowing practices and eco-system management, the program was initiated in 2006. This year introduces an eco-bike tour and sees the return of the popular dog-friendly hikes. See below for details.
Cycle & Sip in the Vineyards
Join Jeff Kunde on a leisurely harvest-themed bike ride through the 1,850 acre Kunde Family Estate. This moderately strenuous ride lasts four hours and includes a gourmet picnic lunch and wine tasting.

Eco-Tour Dog Hikes
Jeff Kunde will lead hikers and their dogs on a three mile hike through the estate. A wine country picnic lunch and wine tasting are included. Treats and a “water tasting bar” will be provided for the dogs. A portion of the proceeds goes to Canine Companions and the Sonoma County Humane Society.

Harvest Eco-Tour
Jeff Kunde will lead a special one-time Harvest Eco-Tour on Saturday, September 19th. The hike will climb from the Sonoma Valley floor up 1400’ through the vineyards and into the Mayacamas Mountains and conclude with a wine tasting and gourmet lunch.

Hike and Taste in the Vineyards
Join Sonoma Valley Docent Bill Myers on a fun, casual and up-close hike through the Kunde Family Estate. This is a great opportunity to learn about Kunde Family Estates’ sustainable winegrowing practices, while tasting wines along the way in the very vineyards where their grapes were grown.
April 25th, June 20th, August 15th, November 7th, December 19th 2009, 9:30am – 1:30pm, $25 per person (includes wine tasting), $15 for those under 21.
A portion of this fee will be donated to the Sonoma Ecology Center.
